. Episode List
Are You Being Served - Christmas Crackers
The staff are called to an early morning meeting to decide on ways to boost Christmas sales figures. However, Young Mr. Grace has already decided that all the floor staff will have to wear novelty costumes, something which none of them are too happy about.

Good Neighbors - Silly But It's Fun
Tom and Barbara have put the episode when they were vandalised behind them and are making their own decorations on Christmas eve. Next door Margo has argued with the company delivering all her Christmas trimmings and sent back the van because the Christmas tree was too short. Due to a misunderstanding no replacement arrives and Margo and Jerry are faced with the prospect of no Christmas. Fortunately the Goods have enough Christmas cheer to invite them for party games and home-made crackers, though Margo is specific about which newspaper she wants for her party hat.

To the Manor Born - Christmas Special
Following in family tradition Audrey and Marjory create a crib for the church though it is very crudely put together. Richard, on the other hand, asked by the vicar as lord of the manor, to contribute one, has a far more commercial model. Both parties claim to prefer the other. Come Christmas Audrey and Marjory decline an invitation to the manor but are bored and relieved when Richard and his mother come to them.

'Allo 'Allo! - A Bun in the Oven
Two years have elapsed and it is now September 1943. The airmen have escaped to England and Bertorelli and the Italian troops have withdrawn. Rene's hopes for peace and quiet are, however, dashed as Yvette announces her pregnancy. With the war now seeming to turn against Germany, Von Klinkerhoffen considers assassinating Hitler. Gruber and Von Strohm hope to sell the original painting, sell it and flee to Spain so they get Helga to steal it. To ensure her cut when the sale goes ahead she 'removes' one of the Fallen Madonna's boobies as her insurance.

Last of the Summer Wine - Whoops
With Christmas approaching, the trio decide to invite long-lost friends from the town for a drink at the pub on Christmas Eve.

Keeping up Appearances - A Very Merry Hyacinth
To impress Richard's boss, Hyacinth arranges for him to dress as Santa and pass out gifts at church. Unfortunately, when a delusional Daddy and an intoxicated Richard show up, making a good impression will take nothing less than a Christmas miracle.

Blackadder's - Christmas Carol
Pleasant Ebenezer Blackadder is turned into a cruel and witty miser after seeing visions of his ancestors and descendants.

The Vicar of Dibley - Winter
For Christmas Geraldine plans to stage a Nativity play in front of the church. David will play Herod, showing his kindlier side, and Owen wants to be the King - cue his Elvis Presley impression. Alice and Hugo play Joseph and Mary and, amazingly, learn to speak perfect Hebrew. During the play Alice goes into labour and gives birth, prompting an audience member to declare it is the most realistic Nativity play she ever saw.

All Creatures Great and Small - Merry Gentlemen
James and Siegfried treat a gypsy family's ailing donkey. It's Christmas-time and Siegfried gets to visit the Hewison farm and a chance to taste Mrs. Hewison's Christmas cake, the best in the district. Only she has a surprise for him this year. Tristan wonders if uncle Herriot has any plans to visit Mrs. Pumphrey, in the hopes of getting another hamper from Fortnum and Mason's. When Tricki Woo falls ill, James decides that the dog needs to spend a few days at Skeldale House. Siegfried mysteriously keeps the front room locked, only to arrange a surprise for a very nosy Tristan.

BallyKissangel - Happy as a Turkey on Boxing Day
Christmas is looking a bit dreary for Peter, Assumpta and Brian who all have their own troubles. But things get a bit more exciting on Christmas Day when Padraig's son Kevin falls down a mine shaft.

Monarch of the Glen - Hogmanay Special
On the eve of a new year, the house is haunted by a 14th century ghost who put a curse on the MacDonald family centuries ago. Just before the New Years Eve party, Paul discovers a long lost soldier who may help him understand the traditions of his new family.

Lovejoy - The Prague Sun
Lovejoy's search for diamonds stolen from a priceless religious object takes him and Eric to Prague where dark forces are plotting against them.

When a new baby is born into the family, eldest daughter Laura Timmins is told by her parents that she will have to make her own way in the world. Arrangements have been made for her to move to the nearby village of Candleford where she will be apprenticed to her cousin Dorcas Lane. Dorcas is the postmistress and a very successful businesswoman. Laura is quite sad at the prospect of leaving Lark Rise and her family, but her cousin is very kind and sets about teaching her the business. Trouble is brewing between Lark Rise and Candleford, however, when residents of the former complain of the high cost of telegram delivery. It gets worse when one of the residents can't afford to pay and misses the news that her brother is deathly ill.

Hilarious ... what great fun to watch!
Oh I think everyone should have this 4-DVD set to watch each Christmas. It absolutely shows how humorous the Brits are when it comes to comedy. The best writers, the best actors, the best comedy. Classic! Wonderful! Cheers you right up! What is missing is Mr. Bean's Christmas (too bad as it would have been a perfect add). You won't be disappointed in the DVD ... would make a great gift too.

Holiday cheer in a box
I'm enjoying this compilation of Christmas episodes, most of which are new to me. I have been a fan of most of these shows for years, and it's a real treat to see these episodes -- like a visit from dear old friends. Even better, most of these holiday shows are new to me. I don't think they were all broadcast with the rest of the series in the US. I would recommend this to all fans of these series.
