Very clever scripts
If you like it when all the suspects are brought into a room and the detective has his denouement, you love these clever murders.

My husband and I started watching Death in Paradise and was really pleasantly surprised. We have really enjoyed it and hope it continues for a long time. The characters are great and the scenery is beautiful. Great series.

Different, engaging and left me wanting more!
Aside from the fact that there are far too many murders in Paradise this is a very well done series. It has a wonderful unusual setting, eccentric but brilliant main character and perfect foil in his beautiful colleague, and nicely balanced supporting cast. All the elements of a good series. I had hoped for a little more development in the main character by Series 2, but the supporting cast, the two other officers are developed nicely, and well rounded. Very enjoyable entertainment in a setting unique to detective series. Too bad there are only 8 episodes per Series.

Done right this time
The episodes on Series Two DVDs match those on the UK DVDs and thus allow American fans to see complete unedited episodes. Inexplicably,on  the US Series One DVD set only the first two episodes are the complete versions, the other six are the edited versions shown on PBS stations. I own and compared all UK and US DVDs
