Could they be the ghosts of Ann’s predecessor and her sinister lover? Are they stalking the children? Or does Ann possess an overactive imagination that could ultimately harm the little ones she wants to protect? A gripping gothic chiller sure to send shivers up your spine.. A hauntingly atmospheric and star-studded adaptation of Henry James' classic gothic horror story. A young, inexperienced governess is hired to look after two small children abandoned by their uncle, following the death of their parents, at his grand country house. Unsettled by glimpses of ghostly figures that only she can see, she quickly believes that something malevolent is stalking the children in her care. She learns that her predecessor and her sinister lover both died under curious circumstances and prior to their death, they spent most of their time with Flora and Miles. Could they be the figures appearing to the new governess? But are appearances everything they seem to be? Are these apparitions truly supernatural or simply products of her overactive imagination? James' novel is brilliantly brought to life in this evocative drama - full of ambiguity, eeriness and menace.

Ann, a young, inexperienced governess, is hired to look after Miles and Flora, two small children abandoned by their uncle, following the death of their parents, at his grand country house.

Enchanted by the flourishing rural landscape and the easy charm of the two children, Ann is at first happy in her new role. But it is not long before events take a chilling turn for the worse…

Unsettled by glimpses of ghostly figures that only she sees, she quickly believes that something malevolent is stalking the children in her care.

Ann learns that her predecessor, Miss Jessel, and her sinister lover, Peter Quint, both died under curious circumstances, and prior to their death, they spent most of their time with Flora and Miles.

This fact takes on grim significance when she becomes convinced that the two children can secretly see them too. Could they be the figures that Ann sees? But are appearances everything they seem to be? Are these apparitions truly supernatural or simply products of her overactive imagination?

James’ novel is brilliantly brought to life in this evocative drama – full of ambiguity and eeriness, and heavy with menace..
