I bought this as a gift for my mom. After she opened it she mentioned that there were a lot of older pictures and the information was fascinating. I took a quick peek and now I'm waiting for her to finish it so that i can give it a read as well.

My daughter knew I loved Dame Judy so she gave me the book for Christmas. I read every word in one day. I loved the pictures of her and her daughter as well as those of her over the years. However, this is not a biography. It is a walk down memory lane thru photos.

With almost equal quantities of text, and photographs of the many plays and films in which Dame Judi has appeared, plus the many other artists with whom she has been associated, and worked, plus her family.
I loved the story of husband-to-be, Michael Williams, flying out to Australia, where she was playing, to, among other things, propose marriage, and she turned him down because, she said, it was too romantic an atmosphere, with the hot sun and sandy beaches. And advised him to ask her again, on a rainy day, in Battersea! And which he, apparently did, and they had a very happy marriage, until his untimely death, in 2001.
I can thoroughly recommend the book for any of the many fans of Judi Dench or, in fact for anyone interested in very good theatre and films.
