$29.98

In this heartwarming and uplifting drama, childhood sweethearts Alan (Derek Jacobi, Gladiator, The King's Speech) and Celia (Anne Reid, Coronation Street, Upstairs Downstairs), both widowed and in their 70s, fall for each other all over again when they are reunited on the internet after nearly 60 years. Their relationship is a celebratory tale of the power of love at any age. But this is also a story about family, and with family comes baggage. Celia's respectable, head teacher daughter Caroline (Sarah Lancashire, Lark Rise to Candleford, Upstairs Downstairs) is juggling bringing up two boys and dealing with her husband's infidelity, while Alan's rebellious, complicated middle-aged daughter Gillian (Nicola Walker, MI-5, Inside Men) struggles to make a living on a beautiful but bleak farm. How will these two very different women cope with their parents' announcement that they've decided to get married?

Like real Life!
The start of this DVD , took one back to life I recalled, It is so real in that we all must have things we wished we knew, the why's and what happened, when one met someone one cared for? It has memories for us all! Thank you and will enjoy more.

Bought this (both seasons) as soon as Season 2 became available. Love, love, love this show! The acting is superb and the plot, well...wonderful. We laughed our heads off at the last episode of Season 2 on PBS. Look forward to doing it again, many times, now that I have the complete video.

Last Tango in Halifax
My Mother-in Law told me about this DVD and how she thought I would really enjoy it. So I went ahead and ordered it without really knowing what it was all about, other than a family, parents and their grown up children and all their  ups and downs. When we received it my husband and I sat down and started to watch it. Well, we couldn't stop - we wanted to keep finding out what next, what next. Now I am hoping there is a next season to keep up with this group of people and see what they get them selves into next.

Last Tango in Halifax
I bought this series for my husband for Christmas, originally thinking it was about Halifax, Nova Scotia (duh!). We've been watching it over the last few days and are now half way through. It's charming, and Derek Jacobi is a superlative actor, supported by an excellent cast.
