Soft, 100% cotton with distressed, softened print of Hugh Thomson’s 1894 masterpiece. Short sleeves; teal on midnight navy. Unisex sizes S-XXL. Machine wash.
Irishman Hugh Thomson illustrated all six of Jane Austen’s novels, plus works by Dickens, Thackeray and J.M. Barrie. Symbolizing pride, beauty and rebirth, Thomson’s peacock graced the cover of the 1894 first edition of Pride and Prejudice, more than 80 years after the book was originally published. Peacocks were a popular theme among artists such as William Morris, James McNeill Whistler and Louis Comfort Tiffany in the late 19th century.
