This is the story of Walter Tull - the first black officer to serve in the British army in the First World War, telling the story of his life, in his final moments. Having gained a reputation for himself in the army through his leadership skills, and his ability to motivate others in the most horrifying situations, he discovers that he is being put forward for officer training.
