Fantastic series
I bought the DVD set and watched it all in one day, it was that engrossing. A much more mature version of Game of Thrones that relies on story plot and not nudity. Very tasteful, funny, and the cinematography is professional.

Terrific series!
A splendid series based on the Cornwell books. Superior writing and now a superior series presented on BBC. Not to be missed! Let's all hope for many more of these!

Great Adventrure
A great semi-historic adventure. 50% history, the remainder Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones.
Enjoyed each of the 8 episodes and wish there were more.
The story takes place about 200 years before the Norman William the Conqueror during the time when Danes/Vikings controlled much of England. Some of characters such as Alfred are true characters others are fictional but make the story. Reviewing a bit of early English history helps the story make sense.
Wish there had been a special section providing a history brief and a little bit on how it was filmed. Slight damage to the jewel case.

I had high expectations of this video and it did not disappoint. My husband and two sons (teen and tween) LOVE this video. I enjoy it but men really like it. Great gift for a man. It is captivating. You will want to watch in one sitting.

Great Storie
I love it, it's one of my favorite themes. I expect the network continue with more Bernard Cornwell sequels.

Vivid!
This series is refreshing in it's attempt to recreate the establishment of the British nation that began with Alfred. I find it to be exciting, and the main protagonist Ulred is entirely believable as a character in the saga. I would recommend this series to anyone who has any interest in English history. Although this is fiction, one can imagine the actuality of the script and the actors. Incredible! I hope this series continues for many years.
