En garde! Prepare for more pulse-pounding thrills, more breathtaking action and more high-stakes heroism. The gallivanting royal bodyguards for King Louis XIII – Athos (Tom Burke, The Hour), Aramis (Santiago Cabrera, Heroes), Porthos (Howard Charles, &Me) and d’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino, Skins) – are back for love, honor and adventure. Together, the inseparable Musketeers employ their bravery and skill to track down a missing Musketeer; become embroiled in a full-scale riot orchestrated by a notorious criminal mastermind; and embark on a dangerous mission to Le Havre. It’s all for one in the non-stop second season of The Musketeers.

The Musketeers return, in a stunning second series that explodes from the screen with more thrills, action and adventure than ever before. As France teeters on the brink of war with Spain, the death of Cardinal Richelieu has left a void that could yet be filled by an even darker threat. Meanwhile, the Comte de Rochefort has escaped from a Spanish prison and aims to establish himself at court. An old friend of the Queen, Rochefort is a strong-willed soldier who has suffered a terrible ordeal at the hands of his captors. But the Musketeers soon discover that this supposed ally is not all that he appears. More mercurial and combustible than the Cardinal, Rochefort has a concealed agenda that may bring the whole realm to ruin. Vividly evoking the grit and grime of 17th century Paris’s mean streets, this gripping take on the iconic classic is visually spectacular and bursting with invention.

More mercurial and combustible than the Cardinal, Rochefort has a concealed agenda that may bring the whole realm to ruin. Vividly evoking the grit and grime of 17th century Paris’s mean streets, this gripping take on the iconic classic is visually spectacular and bursting with invention.. As the court of King Louis mourns the death of Cardinal Richelieu, France teeters on the brink of war with Spain. For all his scheming, the Musketeers’ deadliest adversary was at heart a pragmatist, determined to preserve the sovereignty of his country at any cost. These are uncertain times, and his death has left a void that could yet be filled by an even darker threat.

Meanwhile, one of Richelieu’s most loyal lieutenants, the Comte de Rochefort, has escaped from a Spanish prison and aims to establish himself at court.

As the Musketeers fight to uphold their sworn duty to protect the King, each must also confront personal trials that will test the limits of his courage. D’Artagnan faces insurmountable odds to finally win Constance’s heart, while Athos is tortured by Milady’s persistent hold over him. For street-smart, wisecracking Porthos, the arrival of his father’s old friend means he must come to terms with painful truths about his past, and Aramis’s passionate love for Anne is put to the test when he’s forced to choose between duty and love.

Vividly evoking the grit and grime of 17th century Paris’s mean streets, but with a witty, contemporary sensibility, The Musketeers is a thrilling new take on an iconic classic. Visually spectacular and bursting with invention, this stunning production has built on its debut success with an even more gripping second series.. Luke Pasqualino... The Musketeers Season 2
I received my dvd and watched the entire season in 2 nights!! I was sad on the last show because it seemed as if the series was ending, as if all the "loose ends" were being tied. I am excited/happy to find out there WILL be another season!! Keep this series going!! I love it!!!!

BBCs Best Action Series
I love the twists and turns of Musketeers. The lead stars have mastered the roles as they were imagined in the book of the same name. They redefine honor and courage, giving modern viewers nonstop action. As the series unwinds, you find yourself marching in step with the Musketeers. I cannot imagine anyone doing it better. I hope the BBC renews them again and again.

Musketeers Ssn2
Wonderful series which ends the foppish myth of the King's men. Both seasons are excellent, but Season 2 even more dramatic with great stories.
