Terrific Adaptation
We thoroughly enjoy all of the Father Brown series but this Part two of Season 3 was the very best yet. Every episode was excellent. Just hope they keep doing them.
Mr. Chesterson is a terrific writer and the script writers are doing an excellent job.
Highly recommend.

Best Season Ever!
Thrilled to be able to get my hands on a copy of season 3, it has been a long wait. I have loved each season of Father Brown a little more than the previous one making this by far the best. A joy to watch over and over.

GREAT SERIES
I HAVE FATHER BROWN ON CASSETTE & COMPLETE COLLECTION WITH KENNETH MOORE PLAYING FATHER BROWN. ALL THREE RENDITIONS ARE EXCEPTIONAL AS THEY HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR, BUT FATHER BROWN PLAYED BY MARK WILLIAMS SURPASSES THE EARLIER PURCHASES AS THE CAST SURROUNDING HIS CHARACTER IS NOTHING BUT ICING ON THE CAKE.

Delicious!
This installment in the Father Brown series, like all the others in the new series with Mark Williams, does not disappoint from start to finish. Top quality performances from all, and Mark Williams continues to out-do himself in this role above all others he has played, and that's saying a lot.

The only nagging thing is why the writers have chosen to keep Inspector Sullivan as such a cardboard character all the way through to the end. He continues to resent Father Brown's interference and "meddling," and sees him as an irritant, when Father Brown has consistently helped him solve cases in a discrete way (avoiding toe-stepping) for so long, and in the last episode of this installment he actually saves his life. The Sullivan character is never allowed to grow. The character seems glaringly neglected to the point where you wonder if the actor grows tired of playing such an unrealistically one-dimensional role.

The reason this is so glaring is because all the other characters grow, and every single other aspect of in the production is just so masterfully and beautifully done. I'm glad I made the purchase of both Parts 1 and 2 of Season 3 to add to my collection, because I will definitely be watching them again. They are the best "cozy" style mystery to come along since the production of Agatha Christie's Miss Marples and Poirots--such a refreshing break from all the rest of the grim, graphic violent fare out there.
