The 1950s Captured by WPC
I am so pleased to have purchase this DVD because it replays for me a very significant milestone in the life of my family. It was the day in 1955 when my mother got her job as the first policewoman in Bristol's Avonmouth Docks Police. Although I was only 11 at that time my mother continued working as a policewoman until 1970. So in the family circle I had a long exposure to my mother's comments on life in the police and WPC 56 captures the ethos of that time and place so well.

WPC may be confusing
Great series. I thought it would have been a typical British comedy but I was surprised as there was some serious crime drama included and an excellent story line. My spouse who was an original WPC herself says the scenes and situations in the Birmingham area police station were really true to life.
